What started as a little lockdown experiment has somehow turned into my full-time job, five years deep — and honestly, a whole new career I didn’t even realise I was craving. BHF is my lockdown baby that grew up, got louder, sparklier and took over my life (in the best way). I make quirky, playful, statement resin jewellery and hair accessories for people who think life’s far too short for boring earrings. I’ve always loved using clothing and accessories to show off my personality, and I am a huge statement earring girl. But let’s be real — a lot of bold jewellery is heavy, uncomfortable, and not exactly kind to your earlobes. During lockdown, I started playing around with resin and discovered I could get the oversized, eye-catching look I wanted… without the weight. The result? Loud, fun, glitter-packed pieces that are actually lightweight. No saggy earlobes here, thank you very much. Every piece is designed and handmade by me in my South London studio (yes, a proper studio now — she’s grown up). I’m constantly dreaming up new designs, experimenting with colours and shapes, and hunting down the best glitter I can find — whether that’s on eBay, in charity shops, or falling down an internet rabbit hole at 1am. At its heart, By Heather Filby is about confidence, fun and self-expression. My pieces are made to help you feel empowered, to enhance your style, and to make getting dressed that little bit more joyful. If my jewellery makes you smile, gets you a compliment, or makes you feel like that girl — then my job is done.
